Bad Deal
Bad Deal.
I trade this living moment,
Full of fragrance and sensation,
And love,
Never to be repeated, or relived,
For another planning session,
in the head,
Trying to control tomorrow,
And tomorrow’s tomorrow,
Missing the life that is always
Living, breathing, touching, feeling, loving,
Already here now,
Making a deal:
My livingness, aliveness, MY LIFE,
In trade,
For pictures of a tomorrow
That never comes,
Trading having for wanting,
Looking for a place to stand,
Instead of being here and seeing,
Looking for a safe happy tomorrow,
When all safety and happiness
is already right here in this spacious moment.
Where else could it be?
The one eternal, always here,
Full to the brim with everything moment.
I want to trade my aliveness
For predictability.
What a deal!
How many times
Will I fall for the promises of a false security,
somewhen else,
that never, ever,
Come true?
Life is kind,
to deny me,
What I think I want.
